Overview

Kengo Kuma wrapped the rebuilt national stadium in a timber lattice of Japanese cedar and larch. It succeeded the 1958 stadium that served the 1964 Games. The Tokyo 2020 Olympics ceremonies and athletics ran here in 2021. Capacity is about 68,000.
