Overview

Built as the Itaquerao for the 2014 World Cup, it staged the opening match, Brazil beating Croatia. A crane accident during construction killed workers and delayed the roof. Corinthians moved in afterward, trimming capacity from the World Cup configuration to about 49,000. The east stand is a huge single tier wall.
