Overview

The golden woven bowl, patterned on Arab craft, staged the 2022 final: Argentina against France, 3-3, penalties, Messi against Mbappe, arguably the greatest final ever played. It was built from scratch in the new city of Lusail. Capacity was 88,966 for the tournament, with downsizing and repurposing planned after. It is the largest stadium in Qatar.
