Overview

The workhorse of Qatari sport, renovated ahead of 2022 with cooling systems that hold desert heat at bay. It staged the 2019 World Athletics Championships and the bronze final of the 2022 World Cup, Croatia against Morocco. Capacity is about 45,000 in the Aspire sports zone. It opened in 1976 as the national stadium.
