Overview

Once the largest stadium in the world, it drew six figure crowds, including the 1937 England v Scotland attendance of 149,415, still the European record for the fixture. The Hampden Roar became shorthand for Scottish passion. It hosted the 2002 and 1960 European Cup finals, the last a legendary Real Madrid victory, plus Euro 2020 matches. Queens Park, the amateur founders of Scottish football, remain the resident club.
