Overview

Opened in the Marassi district in 1911, it is one of the oldest continuously used football grounds in Italy, named for a Genoa captain killed in World War One. Genoa and Sampdoria have shared it since 1946, staging the Derby della Lanterna beneath the floodlights. It was rebuilt for the 1990 World Cup into the intimate bowl of today.
