Opened 1999 as Stadium Australia, the Sydney Olympic stadium

Overview

Built for the 2000 Olympics, it staged the ceremonies, athletics and the football final, Cameroon against Spain. Converted to a rectangle in 2003, it became the fortress of the Socceroos and Sydney codes. The 2023 Women World Cup semi final, Australia against England, drew a record crowd. Capacity is about 83,000.
