Overview

Originally the Aryamehr, it staged the 1974 Asian Games. The Tehran derby between Persepolis and Esteghlal packs it with noise famous across Asia. Iran World Cup qualifiers here are notoriously hard on visitors, the noise of about 78,000 strong. It stands in the west Tehran park complex.
