Overview

The only stadium to host two World Cup finals: Brazil 1970 and Argentina 1986. Maradona scored both the Hand of God and the Goal of the Century here in 1986. At 2,240 meters altitude it tests visiting lungs. The 2026 World Cup opening match will make it the first stadium used at three World Cups. Capacity is about 87,000.
