Etihad Stadium
Opened 2002 for the Commonwealth Games, home of Manchester City since 2003
Overview
Constructed for the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the arena converted to football when Manchester City moved from Maine Road in 2003. Named under a long sponsorship deal with Etihad Airways, it anchored the rebirth of east Manchester. The 2020s North Stand expansion is lifting capacity beyond 60,000. City title celebrations and Champions League nights have defined the Abu Dhabi era here.
