Overview

Hillsborough hosted matches at the 1966 World Cup and Euro 96 and was long a regular FA Cup semi final venue. On 15 April 1989 a crush in the Leppings Lane terrace at the semi final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest killed 97 Liverpool supporters. The disaster led to the Taylor Report and all seater stadiums across English football.
