Overview

The current Ibrox rose from tragedy: a 1902 stand collapse killed 25, and the 1971 stairway crush killed 66, disasters that reshaped British stadium safety. Architect Archibald Leitch worked on the red brick main stand, now a listed building. Rangers have played here since 1899, and the Old Firm derby with Celtic remains the fiercest fixture in Scottish football.
