Overview

Originally the Central Lenin Stadium, it staged the 1980 Olympic ceremonies and athletics. The 1999 UEFA Cup final and the 2018 World Cup final, France against Croatia, are its modern landmarks. A sweeping 2017 renovation hid the running track behind extended tiers. Capacity is about 81,000, the largest in Russia.
