Overview

Originally the Arena AufSchalke, its pitch slides outside the bowl on rails for concerts and events, beneath a retractable roof and a cable suspended video cube. It hosted the 2004 Champions League final, Porto against Monaco. Schalke fill it despite second division years, about 62,000 strong, in the Ruhr football heartland.
